Institutional Bias

Institutional bias is an error in judgement on a large scale. As human beings we are all subject to errors in judgement based on cognitive bias depending on what motivates our thinking, that is, what is important to us. We are tribalistic, we are sports fans, we are parents, we are soldiers, we bow to our chosen authorities and we pick sides and stick to it. We prefer answers which make simple sense to us. We choose answers which make us comfortable. The flat earth crowd is a joke to us now but at one time it was a serious error in judgement that our entire kind struggled with. Perspective is everything.
